The highest military official of NATO, Admiral Rob Bauer, is on an official visit to Sarajevo with members of the North Atlantic Council (NAC), Klix.ba learns.
It is interesting that his arrival in BiH was not announced in official announcements from the institutions, but he was noticed today at the meeting of the NAC, which was led by Deputy Secretary General of NATO Mircea Geoana, with members of the Presidency of BiH.
At that meeting, the belief was expressed that this is one of the most important and successful meetings for Bosnia and Herzegovina this year, and the BiH Presidency emphasized that our country continues its cooperation with NATO, noting that it should be faster and more extensive.
Admiral Rob Bauer of the Royal Netherlands Navy is the 33rd Chairman of the NATO Military Committee.
As Military Advisor to the Secretary General, Admiral Bauer is NATO’s most senior military officer.
He is the person who presents the advice of all 30 NATO Chiefs of Defense to political decision-making bodies, after which guidance and directives are issued to the Supreme Allied Commander Europe, the Supreme Allied Commander Transformation and the Director General of the International Military Staff.
NATO’s top military official, Rob Bauer, recently shocked the world with a dramatic statement that war with Russia is a real possibility and that everyone should prepare for such a thing.
In an interview with Montenegrin Pobjeda, he said that NATO sees fragile stability in the Balkans and added that Milorad Dodik supported Moscow even before the war in Ukraine and that this is nothing new.
Bauer pointed out that NATO monitors the entire situation in the world, in space and in cyberspace.
“We follow all the events around us, in the world, in our area of responsibility, including the Balkans.”
