The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands has expressed serious concern over the provocative actions and rhetoric of the authorities of Republika Srpska (RS), emphasizing that the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) must be respected.

“The Netherlands is seriously concerned about the provocative actions and rhetoric of the authorities of RS. The sovereignty, territorial integrity, and constitutional order of BiH must be respected. Along with the European Union (EU), we urge the RS leadership to change course,” reads a statement from the  Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.

The Dutch followed up on an earlier EU statement that condemned the political rhetoric coming from the RS authorities.

“We call on the political leadership of RS to refrain from provocative, divisive rhetoric and actions, including questioning the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of BiH. Political pressure on public officials to leave state-level institutions must stop,” the EU stated.

The EU also reaffirmed its continued support for the “sovereignty, territorial integrity, and constitutional order of BiH.”
