MaureenCormackAmbassador Maureen Elizabeth Cormack, who was appointed by President Barrack Obama as the new Ambassador of the USA to B&H, will speak in front of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Senate on 6 March, said B&H news agency Patria (NAP).

She will speak on the future engagement in B&H, and afterwards the Committee will make a statement regarding her appointment. The Senate confirmation is the last step in the appointment of the Ambassador. If she receives the confirmation, she is expected to take over the position in Sarajevo. Cormack is a career diplomat. She worked in the State Department as Deputy Coordinator of the Department for International Information Program.

She served as Director of the Office for Western Europe from 2009 to 2010, as well as the Deputy Director of Korean Issues from 2006 to 2009.

She was on the board of Homeland Security from 2005 to 2006. She joined the State Department in 1989. She received a degree from the University in Illinois and her Master at the University of Chicago.

Previous Ambassador Patrick Moon left B&H on 24 August, and Charge d’Affaires Nicholas Hill was acting Ambassador since then.
