The Council of Ministers of BiH has determined the Proposal of the Law on Amendments to the Law on Service in the Armed Forces of BiH with the aim of compliance with the conclusion of the Joint Committee for the Defense and Security of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH regarding the length of service of soldiers in the professional military service.

With proposed amendments, the maximum duration of the service of soldiers will be moved to the age of 40, from the previous 35 or 38 years. Thus, BiH will follow the practice of regional countries.

At the same time was prescribed the procedure for extending the contract regarding the fulfilment of the psycho-physical standards, which will enable continuous readiness of our soldiers to perform their tasks and, together with their experience, will additionally strengthen the Armed Forces of BiH. With amendments to the law, among others, will be extended the length of service of soldiers in the spare structure, from 35 to 40 years of age.

The Ministry of Defense of BiH will submit a Proposal of the Law to the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH with the opinion of the Agency for the Protection of Personal Data.
