A new hospital has is opened in East Sarajevo on Friday which costs 54.5 million KM.

The authorities in the entity point out that it is a modern and functional healthcare institution in which medical care will be available for about 120,000 citizens of the Sarajevo-Romanija region.

The hospital was named “Serbia”, as a sign of gratitude to this country for “its treatment of the citizens of the Sarajevo-Romanija region in the war and post-war period, as well as for the constant support and contribution in the education of healthcare workers from the region of East Sarajevo.”

The newly built hospital complex was opened by the entity president Milorad Dodik, and was attended by the Serbian Interior Minister Nebojša Stefanović, and Serbian ministers Zlatibor Lončar and Zoran Đorđević.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić canceled his visit to East Sarajevo and his attendance at the opening of this hospital at Dodik’s request so that he would not be “accused with interfering in the election process and influencing the will of the Serb people in BiH.”
