The traffic police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton (MUP KS) has started punishing all passengers in a motor vehicle who do not fasten their seatbelt, including those who are in the backseat, was confirmed by the MUP KS for the Patria News Agency.

There is also a legal basis for this, that is, amendments to the Law on Road Safety on BiH Roads, which came into force in February 2017, stipulate a fine from 100 to 300 BAM for a driver or other person who did not fasten his seatbelt while driving in a motor vehicle.

“A fine from 100 to 300 BAM will be paid by the driver and all passengers in the car if they do not wear a seat belt, and a fine of  400 to 1,000 is provided for driving a child under 12 in the front seat”.
