Due to the extremely high temperatures that affected the reduction of the abundance of water in reservoirs, yesterday was made a decision that water reduction in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be between 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
“Due to these extremely hot days, which had a direct impact on reducing the abundance of water in reservoirs, and increased consumer spending, the night time term for water reduction from 12:00 AM to 5 AM is not sufficient to fully fill the reservoirs. In the upcoming days, according to weather conditions, a shift will be made during the period from 11 PM to 6 AM in some areas. We will try to fill the reservoirs through this regime, in order to provide more regular daily water supply,” as announced from PUC ViK (Water and Sewage).
Together with this activity, they made a decision on intensifying works on repairs, with reinforced teams and mechanization in two shifts.
Also, they made a decision to provide additional water tankers for the settlement Zabrdje, apart from already engaged tankers of PUC VIK.
Due to this situation, the Ministry of Communal Economy and Infrastructure of Canton Sarajevo and the Management Board of the PUC ViK companies are in constant contact, and they urged consumers to show some understanding and to rationally use water.
