New Textile Plants of Company “Nikola Tesla” in the Fall

tekstilna industrijaTextile plants in Trebinje, Ljubinje, Nevesinje, and Berkovići is expected to open in October and would create 2.000 new jobs, said the Director of “Nikola Tesla” Dragan Vučetić.

“Construction works are underway and its completion depends on when the facilities will begin with their work’’, said Vučetić.

Around 4.500 inhabitants of municipalities Foča, Rogatica, Novo Goražde, Rudo, Kalinovik, Čajniče and Višegrad have signed up so far for work in the textile industry.

The public company “Nikola Tesla”, which is conducted by the strategic development program of the textile industry in the RS invited those interested to sign up at the local committee.

A call was issued to determine whether prerequisites exist for the realization of the second cluster of the textile industry of 3.000 employees in these municipalities.

The first production facilities opened in Bileći on 16 May, and 200 people obtained a job for the first shift. Around 200 workers in the second shift are expected to begin to work.

The textile factory was opened by the President of the RS Milorad Dodik and the Prime Minister of the RS Željka Cvijanović and German partners with the presence of Bishop Grigorije of Zahumlje-Herzegovina and the Littoral, ministers in the RS government and a number of guests.

“Nikola Tesla” company bought at the beginning of January the old building of the textile company “Novoteks” Trebinje, which was bankrupt for 400.000 KM, as well as the building of the textile company “Ljubinjka-eksport” from Ljubinje with equipment at a cost of 245.000 KM.

There is a planned investment this year by the government in Herzegovina and companies in the amount of 20.690.000 KM and the creation of 2.500 new jobs this year for the development of the textile industry.

With the project in Trebinje, around 800 people are expected to be employed, in “ljubinjki” from Ljubinje 350 people, and “Fusola” from Nevesinje with 400 people and Berkovići with 150.
