The New Year’s Eve in Sarajevo and other cities of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) passed mostly calmly and without incidents, and police intervention were mainly because of alcoholism and minor traffic accidents.
“There were several minor traffic accidents in Sarajevo where there were no injured persons, and our officers intervened mainly due to alcoholism,” it is said from the Operational Center of the Canton Sarajevo Ministry of Internal Affairs (CS MIA).
And for the persons on duty in Ambulance Services of CS, the night has passed in a usual way.
“Most of the interventions we had after 1:30 am. Mostly due to alcohol, even 14, and 2 interventions due to the use of pyrotechnics,” the doctor on duty in Ambulance Service of CS confirmed.
Apart from the fact that the members of the Professional Fire Brigade of CS secured a public celebration of the New Year at the Square of BiH, there were three interventions during that night.
As it is confirmed to Fena, in two cases containers were burned, while in one house soot in a chimney was burned.
Also, a car was burned yesterday in Branislav Nusic Street in the morning at 3:25 am.
In the Tuzla Canton, public order and peace were disturbed twice, and 13 traffic accidents occurred during that night.
In the Zenica-Doboj and Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, the New Year’s Eve has passed calmly, without any intervention.
