New York: Izetbegovic met with Borut Pahor

pahor-izetbegovicChairman of the Presidency of BiH, Bakir Izetbegovic, met in New York with the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor.

During the meeting, Chairman Izetbegovic and President Pahor exchanged their views on the situation in BiH and the region, when it comes to recent events.

The President of the Republic of Slovenia congratulated the Chairman Izetbegovic on acceptance of the application of BiH for membership in the European Union, describing it as a very important step. He expressed the readiness of Slovenia to continue with its support to BiH, especially when it comes to meeting the next steps on the path towards the European Union.

Chairman Izetbegovic thanked for the strong support of Slovenia to BiH, especially in the process of Euro-Atlantic integration.

They discussed the bilateral cooperation between the two countries at the meeting, with special focus on economic cooperation.

Chairman Izetbegovic informed President Pahor that the reform process that are taking place in BiH in the context of the reform agenda are giving results, especially in the socio-economic domain. He also emphasized that all the economic indicators are recording an increase and that BiH is currently the fastest growing economy in the Western Balkans.
