The best female cyclist from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lejla Njemčević, achieved new progress on the world UCI marathon ranking list. After the official registration of points, Njemčević advanced by one position and currently ranks sixth in the ranking of the best female cyclists in the world.
This jump up the list comes after a performance at the World Cup race in Girona, Spain. Before that competition, our competitor was in seventh position in the overall standings.
During the race itself, she imposed a strong pace and after the first defect she made her way to the fourth position, but due to the second technical defect on the tire she eventually crossed the finish line in seventh place.
Despite the problems on the track, the points secured in Spain were enough for new progress on the UCI ranking list, Lejla Njemčević’s team announced.
There are still three competitions left until the end of the current season.
Njemčević continues her hunt for the very top of the standings, and the main result goal in the remaining races is to enter the top 5 of the best female cyclists in the world.
