stanicDirector of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) Perica Stanic said to the press in Sarajevo that there are no B&H citizens involved in terrorist attacks in Paris, nor any foreign citizens who might have stayed here.

He noted that due to the recent events in Paris, SIPA and other security agencies in B&H are cooperating and undertaking certain measures.

“First of all, we are at disposal and assistance to the French Embassy in B&H. Anyways, we are checking through Interpol for certain persons and vehicles. I cannot concretize at the moment, I can only say, fortunately so far, our citizens were not involved in terrorist attacks in Paris, nor has the foreign citizens who may have stayed here,” said Stanic.

Responding to a journalist’s question regarding the threats on the Internet, Stanic stated that the Prosecution’s Office is informed about these portals that are supporting and celebrating such terrorist attacks.

“We are taking certain measures, in cooperation with the Prosecution, trying to identify persons who are staying behind them. First of all, all these portals or blogs are managed out of our country,” stated Stanic, adding that the Prosecution will determine the most appropriate measure.

On the question whether the additional checks of people who were on foreign battlefields have been conducted, he replied that they are under some sort of supervision.

“We know who these people are. Some of them have already been prosecuted, and a number of persons are investigated,” said Stanic, adding that this is a number between 40 and 50 people and that it is not a precise number.
