Number of unemployed Persons in BiH decreased in February

workersIn February 2017, the number of persons in paid employment in BiH amounted to 747.516, out of which there were 313.778 women. As compared to January 2017, the number of persons in paid employment decreased by 0,3%, and the number of employed women remained the same. The number of unemployed persons in February 2017 compared to January 2017 decreased by 0,3% and the number of unemployed women also decreased by 0,3%.

In February 2017 the number of registered unemployed in BiH amounted to 509.907. If we take 2015 as a base year (2015 = 100) and compare February 2017 with the same month of 2016, we will notice that the number of unemployed decreased by 4,9 index points, or in absolute terms the number of people registered as unemployed decreased by 26.777.

In February 2017, the average monthly gross earning per person in employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 1.299 KM, which represented the nominal decrease of 2% as compared to December 2016. In comparison to February 2016 the average monthly gross earnings for the February 2017 was nominally by 1% higher.
