During the summer period, the number of visits to the Recreational and Entertainment Center “Pionarski dolina” with a zoo park increased.

“Residents of Canton Sarajevo and all of BiH come here to Pionarska dolina. During July and August, we have the Bosnian diaspora, as well as tourists from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and West Europe so we’re very content with the number of visits to Pionirska dolina,” Vedad Skapur, a veterinarian in Pionarska dolina to Fena.

Pionirska doline has 56 different animal species and hasn’t acquired any new ones this year.

“Even though we don’t have any new sorts, we have young from our own reproduction – kangaroos, lemurs, deer, dwarf goats, and lamas so our visitors can enjoy in our ‘zoo-babies,” Skapur emphasized.

He noted the diversity of visitors’ interestedness in the various sorts of animals.

“The animals that attract the most attention are the mercats, lemurs, lions, and bears but visitors’ interests are very diverse so they like to be photographed with many animals,” Skapur said.

He emphasized that all animals in the zoo are healthy and that the young are developing nicely.
