meetingTrebevic cable car might be completed in 2017, due to the fact that today was signed the agreement in the premises of the City Administration of Sarajevo, which passed the right for the construction of cable car from the KJKP GRAS to the City of Sarajevo.

The agreement was signed by the mayor of Sarajevo Ivo Komsic and Director of KJKP GRAS Avdo Vatric, thus solving the property ownership issues between these two institutions.

“As of today, we acquired a formal right for the construction of Trebevic cable car, and we previously worked a few months on this problem. It was big procedure, and we managed to get through all difficulties, and I hope that citizens will be satisfied with the outcome. Although we did not have the right to do anything, since everything was on the company GRAS, we did not wait for a moment and we did everything we could. We did not lose the hope and we never gave up,” said Komsic.

Komsic also emphasized that the City of Sarajevo was closely working with the Municipality of Stari Grad, and that this Municipality issued them the urban permit, and they are waiting for the construction permit now.

“We already made the preliminary design of the track, and in the meantime, we completed the Project for demolition of starting station and we will approach it very soon. We have carried out pre-qualification of companies that are interested in the construction of the cable car, and we got the two best-known companies in Europe when it comes to the construction of cable car. The city received a donation of three million and 800 thousand FRF, and we need 5 million more for the cable car. This year we will allocate funds from the budget, and we planned around 3, 5 million BAM. It should be noted that the city will construct the cable car of its own resources, we will not ask anyone for money,” said Komsic, adding that demolition of starting station on Trebevic can start immediately.
