As of today, Sarajevo is enriched with a new and contemporary temple of knowledge, culture and science – Gazi Husrev-beg library, which officially opened its doors to all who are interested.
Many high officials from the political, cultural and public life in B&H participated in the official opening of the library and whoever came to support the opening of the new library. Representatives of Qatar attended this event as well. Qatar supported this project with 13 million BAM.
In his speech at the opening ceremony, the director of Gazi Husrev Beg library Mustafa Jahić recalled all the phases that preceded today’s opening.
“The library represents the memory of the cultural and civilization achievements of one nation. Thank you to the State of Qatar and to its friendly people for this great gift”, said Jahić.
Prime Minister of FB&H Nermin Nikšić, Minister of Foreign Affairs of B&H Zlatko Lagumdžija, Vice Presidents of FB&H Mirsad Kebo and Svetozar Pudarić, Chief of EU Delegation in B&H and Special Representative of EU Peter Sorensen, and High Representative Valentin Inzko, among others, attended this event.
