OHR Welcomed the Holding of Session of the B&H Parliament House of Peoples

ohrThe OHR welcomes the fact that, after a long pause in its work, the B&H House of Peoples met with the required quorum and discussed a range of issues, including the proposed amendments to the Law on Residence, said the OHR Spokesperson Eldar Subašić.

According to him, the OHR now expects from all sides to work together on finding pragmatic solutions for the adoption of amendments to the legislation on residence at the state level, which would provide for an equal enforcement of the law across the country.

‘’There is space for it, and we expect from all included political parties to participate in a constructive and pragmatic discussion in order to adopt this Law. State law governs the issue of residence. Entities have a constitutional obligation to fully respect the laws passed in B&H institutions. Entities have to refrain from taking unilateral action, which would be an attempt to circumvent the state institutions of B&H’’, said OHR Spokesperson in a statement to the media.
