Oil prices rose by about 2 percent to their highest in two months on expectations that demand will increase during the summer season and concerns that the conflict in the Middle East could spread.
A barrel of Brent oil rose in price by 1.9 percent and now costs $86.6, while a barrel of crude oil in the US is 2.3 percent more expensive and is sold for $83.38.
This is the highest price of Brent oil since April 30.
Analysts indicate that there is a fear that the potential expansion of the conflict in the Middle East would lead to disruptions in oil supplies and a global drop in supplies of this energy, Reuters reports.
