Old Bridge in Mostar illuminated in Colours of German Flag, remembering Former FM Klaus Kinkel

The Center for Peace and Multiethnic Cooperation from Mostar illuminated the Old Bridge in Mostar with the colors of the German flag on the occasion of death of former Foreign Minister of Germany Klaus Kinkel.

Klaus Kinkel has given a lot to the citizens of BiH and Mostar, with his activities in war and postwar period, especially remembering his relationship with the Mostar and Srebrenica victims, advocating for renewal of coexistence and exploring the formation of the International Tribunal for War Crimes in The Hague.

“On July 23, 1994, we hosted Klaus Kinkel and the presidents of Alija Izetbegovic and Franjo Tudjman, sending the message that the return of the expelled from their homes, the reconstruction of the demolished, and the reconstruction of the Old Bridge as a symbol of the renewal of coexistence. We remember merits, and Mostar does not forget his friends,” said former mayor of Mostar Safet Orucevic.

Former German Foreign Minister Klaus Kinkel died in 82.
