On the Occasion of Independence Day, the Flag of BiH was raised in Toronto

By the decision of the mayors of Toronto and Hamilton, on the occasion of March 1, Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in honor of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the national flags of Bosnia and Herzegovina were ceremoniously raised on the central masts in front of the assemblies of the cities of Toronto and Hamilton.

On behalf of the Government of Canada, a congratulatory message on the occasion of BiH Independence Day was sent by Minister of the Government of Canada, Filomena Tassi.

A congratulatory message was also sent by a member of the Parliament of Canada, Green Matthew, who wrote, among other things:

“As a member of the Parliament of Canada, it is my honor to send sincere congratulations on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of Independence Day. I recognize and appreciate the many contributions of the Bosnian community. Your commitment to freedom, democracy and diversity is an example to the world,” said Matthew.

Traditionally, BiH Independence Day, as one of the most important national holidays, was congratulated by the mayors of Toronto and Hamilton as well as many prominent Canadian cultural academic and political subjects.

The mayor of Hamilton, congratulating BiH Independence Day, recognized the Bosnian community for its continuous contribution to the preservation and strengthening of the Bosnian tradition in Hamilton, which enriches the culture of Hamilton.

It is important that we teach the young generation about the national holidays of Bosnia and Herzegovina, about the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Bosnian language and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s rich cultural, historical, traditional and natural heritage, because in the future they will care about national holidays, about the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, about its best historical, cultural and traditional values and preserve, strengthen and transmit them around the world.

In Canada, we defend our BiH with knowledge from those who attack it. We teach our children to build knowledge on the knowledge of their homeland, because there can never be as much strength in those who destroy the state of BiH as in those who love BiH.

“The best answer to the ambassadors and consuls general of Bosnia and Herzegovina from among the Serbian people who refused to listen to the instruction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding the celebration of Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the fact that the country of Canada respects the Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” stated the Canadian Genocide Research Institute.
