“One Billion Rising” Event held in Mostar

A global campaign against violence against women called “One billion rising” was held on Thursday in Mostar with the help of dance clubs and non-governmental organizations from the city of Mostar.

One of the organizers Tajma Tiro said that this year, a dance with a joint choreography at the Spanish Square in Mostar will take place.

“The event has become recognizable, hundreds of young people have gathered so we have great support, and there are also dance clubs from Mostar, PS Flash, PS B-dance, MO-stars, SP Zrinjski, Mostar Major, Erigo and Pro-dance, who support us every year,” said Tiro.

After a dance, at the Square, there was a common walk with transparencies featuring prominent messages against violence.

“The general message is against violence against women because in the cities around the world, this so-called V-day is also marked. However, this year we have one extra story. We wanted to support the movements that have recently been prominent in BiH, about the justice movements for Dzenan and David, but also for all innocent, murdered children,” Tiro said.

Also, this year, Tiro says, there is also an informal group of people who sold cakes on the Spanish market.
