Acting prosecutors of the Canton Sarajevo Prosecutor’s Office proposed to the Sarajevo Cantonal Court that Ibrahim Hadžibajrić and Alma Destanović be detained for one month, said the spokeswoman of the CS Prosecutor’s Office Azra Bavčić.
According to her, custody was proposed for the suspect Hadžibajrić due to the risk that he could influence witnesses, cover up evidence, and the risk of repeating the criminal offense, while custody was proposed for Alma Destanović due to the risk of escape and the risk that she could repeat the crime if he was released. criminal offense.
The Mayor of Stari Grad Municipality, Ibrahim Hadžbajrić, was deprived of his liberty yesterday as part of the operation codenamed “Start”.
Hadžibajrić is accused of illegally firing six civil servants and employees in the Old Town Municipality from March 2020 to March 2021.
For the main hearing, the acting prosecutor proposed to the court the hearing of 26 witnesses, medical experts and the presentation of more than 200 material pieces of evidence.

As announced by the BiH Prosecutor’s Office, the activities are carried out in coordination with EUROPOL, and relate to criminal offenses of organized crime and money laundering, as well as corrupt criminal offenses of abuse of position or authority and receiving and giving gifts.
Action “Start” refers to more than 10 natural and legal persons, who are suspected of organized crime and abuses in multi-million amounts, and the activities are carried out in more than 20 locations.
The police searched the Municipality of Stari Grad according to the order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo and in cooperation with EUROPOL, and under the supervision of acting prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sarajevo Canton.
