The Kosovo police was attacked early this morning in the village of Banjska near North Mitrovica, one policeman was killed and another was wounded, members of the American KFOR and EULEX went to the field.
The Kosovo Police announced that around 2:30 a.m. in North Mitrovica, the rapid intervention unit of the border police noticed that at the entrance to the village of Banjska, two heavy trucks (without license plates) were placed on the bridge and that the entrance to this village could not be reached via of the bridge, as it is blocked.
It was also stated that the “law enforcement units” (ordinary policemen) of the Zvečani Police Station, upon receiving the notification, reacted to the case and that they started with three units in that direction.
“As soon as they arrived in the vicinity of the place where the blockade was reported, the police units encountered resistance, where several people fired from an arsenal of firearms, including hand grenades and hand grenades, from certain positions, during which two policemen were shot,” the Kosovo police announced.
The media, referring to their sources, report that the group that attacked the Kosovo police “is hiding in the Banjska monastery”.
Members of the American KFOR and EULEX came to the scene, Beta reports.
