One Technologist in Every Bakery

pekarstvoEvery bakery is required to have at least one person who is a specialist in technology and who will work four hears every working day in order to ensure the quality and health of products. This is anticipated with the amendments to the Ordinance on the content and implementation of the general and specific requirements of food hygiene.

The RS Inspectorate told ‘Glas Srpska’ that amendments to the Ordinance came due to breach of contract on business-technical cooperation between bakeries and technologists.

‘’In previous legislation it was not precisely defined in what period the technologist has to be engaged, but it was noted that this works on the basis of a contract on business-technical cooperation. Bakers only had fake agreements with technologists’’, said the Spokesperson for the RS Inspectorate Duška Makivić.

She added that, in addition to bakeries, the regulations apply to mills and producers of soft drinks and bottled water.

‘’The aim of the inspection is not punishment, so inspectors are not imposing fines, but through a decision ordered employers to employ the needed staff. Only in cases where it is found that the employers do not do this, inspectors will impose fines’’, said Makivić.
