One victim of the past war was identified in the premises of the Center for Autopsy and Identification in Goražde, the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.

“This is a victim of Bosniak nationality who was killed in the area of Rudo in 1993,” the announcement stated.

The Institute said that the identity of the victim was first determined using the DNA method, and then the obtained identity was confirmed by members of the victim’s family.

“This is how Hajrudin (Serifa) Abaz, born in 1967 in Rudo, was identified. He was 26 years old when he disappeared in the area of Rudo, and his incomplete remains were exhumed 30 years later, more precisely in October 2023, at the locality of Svido , Višegrad”, the Institute states.
