Only together can we solve the problems of Roma in BiH, said the President of the Roma Association “Euro Rom” from Tuzla Nedžad Jusić to international organizations, governmental structure and to Roma people on the occasion of 8 April, International Roma Day.
He added that, according to information of the Roma non-profit sector, in BiH there are currently between 80,000-100,000 Roma people.
“If we take the facts and information that more than 95 percent of Roma in BiH do not have a fixed monthly income, that more than 50 percent of Roma do not have health insurance, that more than 60 percent of Roma live in inadequate conditions and that a large number of Roma are not in schools, these facts alone speak of the type of situation that Roma find themselves in BIH’’, said Jusić for Fena agency.
International Roma Day is celebrated since 1971 when the first world congress of Roma was held in London.
