Representatives of opposition parties from Republika Srpska and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina signed the Platform for Peace, Stability, European Future and Economic Progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo today.

The agreement was signed by Zlatko Miletić (ZNG), Edin Forto (Naša stranka), Fuad Kasumović (BHI KF), Nermin Nikšić (SDP BiH), Elmedin Konaković (Narod i pravda), Milan Miličević (SDS), Nenad Vuković (PDP), Nebojša Vukanović (Za pravda i ord), Nermin Ogrešević (NES BiH) and others.

Thus, the ten parties agreed on a joint political document at the state level, focused on BiH’s European path and the reconstruction of the current government.

The HDZ thanked the opposition from Republika Srpska for the offered document and announced that it would analyze the declaration and submit its proposals. Talks between the opposition and the HDZ will continue in the coming weeks, although expectations are currently quite restrained.

The opposition from RS will also talk with HDZ 1990 next week, which was confirmed for Klix.ba by the president of that party, Ilija Cvitanović.

“I have party and coalition meetings next week, and we will also hold a meeting with the proponents of the document,” said Cvitanović.

SDA, DF and the Party for BiH in principle support the principles of the Platform, but they are not ready to sign the document at the moment. The SDA has clearly announced that it will not participate in the formation of a new government, but will vote for the removal of the current government when it is on the parliament’s agenda. DF, on the other hand, as a condition for signing the Platform, requested that the document include an item on the vote of no confidence in the current convocation of the BiH Council of Ministers. The Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina emphasized its support for the Platform, but believes that its postulates must first receive operational and institutional confirmation.

The document states that 10 key points are highlighted at the center of the activities of the announced platform:

-Operational and functional Council of Ministers and Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.

-Fulfillment of the necessary conditions for obtaining a date for the start of negotiations with the EU, as well as the request to set a date for the intergovernmental conference for BiH immediately after the conditions are met.

-Adoption of the Growth Plan, which implies the rapid receipt of a tranche of 70 million euros, as well as the total implementation of the planned two billion KM for projects throughout BiH, in accordance with the financial and dynamic framework of the Growth Plan for BiH.

-Continued harmonization of domestic legislation with the EU acquis (Aquis communautaire), through the adoption of laws whose content is aligned with the standards of the acquis communautaire, provided that the EU institutions provide greater certainty regarding the duration of negotiations and final membership.

-Creating and implementing a joint plan for the promotion and acceleration of BiH’s European path.

In order to fully achieve the stated priorities of the aforementioned Platform, the focus of activities will also be:

-Uncompromising fight against crime and corruption, conflicts of interest and elimination of political influence in the work of the public sector, with a special emphasis on public procurement.

-Fulfilling all prerequisites for the fastest possible withdrawal of money from European funds and the implementation of projects that directly affect the everyday lives of citizens.

-Developing and adopting a legal solution that will introduce a differentiated VAT rate, and we will continue to work on the reform of indirect taxes.

-Applying the most modern methods and international standards for the presentation of media content that may harm public morals, the well-being of children and youth.

-Reform of electoral legislation, in accordance with the decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH and the European Court of Human Rights, as well as further accelerated activities aimed at ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process, so that in the 2026 general elections the voting process is conducted using electoral technologies (ballot scanners, document authentication equipment, etc.) and respecting the adopted recommendations of the ODIHR, GRECO and the European Commission.

-“In order to implement the Platform and create a positive political atmosphere, the parties will refrain from raising issues that produce a negative political environment and tensions. On topics on which it is not possible to reach a consensus, the signatory parties will communicate in a civilized manner, taking care not to create political conflicts that negatively affect the public. The signatory parties to the Platform undertake to establish a team that will monitor the implementation of this Platform, no later than 10 days from the date of signing, which will consist of one representative of each partner party. The signatories agree to regularly inform the public about the implementation of the agreed activities. We also undertake to create a concrete plan to promote the advantages of BiH’s membership in the EU, given that the widest possible social support is needed (including pro-European parties that are not part of the parliamentary majority). We define and promote BiH’s membership in the EU as a foreign policy goal that will be implemented by all relevant institutions in BiH, as well as all levels of government in which the political parties that are signatories to this Platform participate,” concludes the document, which will be presented tomorrow at 3 p.m. in the Parliamentary to the assembly of PDP, SDS and For justice and order to offer to all parliamentary parties and representatives.
