Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban supports granting the European Union (EU) candidate status to Ukraine and Moldova but believes that Georgia and Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) should also receive the status.
This was said by the Deputy Secretary of State in the Cabinet of the Prime Minister, Bertalan Havasi, reports Hirado.hu.
“Viktor Orban agreed with the EU’s proposal to grant Ukraine and Moldova candidate status for EU membership. Further, he added that Hungary, as well as several other member states, believes Georgia and BiH should gain membership at the same pace,” it was mentioned in the statement.
Yesterday, Croatian President Zoran Milanovic said that BiHshould be granted candidate status because everything else would be “sadism”.
Apart from that, a session of EU foreign ministers was held yesterday, at which Slovenia presented a plan on how to support BiH and grant it candidate status.
