Over 98,000 Business Accounts blocked in BiH

At the beginning of August this year, a total of 98,632 business accounts were blocked in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The new report on blocked accounts in the Single Register of Accounts of the Central Bank of BiH, which contains 3,962 pages, states that at the beginning of August this year, 53,766 companies had at least one blocked account.

The new, updated report lists legal entities from all spheres of social life, from businesses, shops, hairdressers, gas stations, pharmacies, surgeries, cafes and restaurants, to various agencies, cooperatives, companies. This list also includes mines, local communities, municipalities, sports federations…
In the first report of the Central Bank of BiH, published in early November 2012, the number of blocked accounts of business entities in BiH was 58,038, while 35,694 companies had at least one blocked bank account.
