To date, JP Autoceste of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has not received any official act from which it would appear that the actions of the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) were carried out at the behest or request of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO), according to the press release of JP Autoceste FBiH, which responds to media reports suggesting that OLAF’s activities are connected to the EPPO investigation or that OLAF came to BiH for Claim No. 5 on the Poprikuše-Nemila corridor section Vc.
“In recent days, two narratives in certain media have given the impression that the activities of OLAF in JP Autoceste FBiH are connected to the EPPO investigation, or that OLAF came to Bosnia and Herzegovina for Claim No. 5 on the section Poprikuše-Nemila Corridor Vc, but such claims do not correspond to the facts”, announced the Public Relations Department of JP Autoceste FBiH.
It is stated that Autoceste FBiH immediately after the end of the official activities of the representatives of OLAF, informed the public that the subject of their work was documentation related to projects financed with international funds, i.e. public procurement procedures from the period 2018-2022. and that the Company made available the complete required documentation, electronic communication and information systems.
It is stated that the procedure led by the EPPO refers to a completely different case, the Ozimice-Poprikusa section, where the contract for the selection of a consulting engineer was never awarded, nor were funds from the European Union budget used, because the Management, led by director Denis Lasić, canceled the tender on August 23, 2024 and filed a criminal complaint with the competent FBiH judicial authorities for possible manipulation of bids in the Ozimica-Poprikusa tender on July 4. in 2024.
“For this reason, it is not accurate to present the activities of OLAF as a continuation or execution of the EPPO order, nor to connect them with the contractual procedure of Claim No. 5 on the Poprikuše – Nemila project,” the statement states.
In conclusion, it is emphasized that JP Autoceste of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will continue to fully cooperate with all domestic and international institutions, convinced that only a complete and objective analysis of all facts can provide a credible answer to all open questions.
