Peace March: Applications until June 11

peace marchOn the occasion of the marking of the anniversary of Srebrenica genocide, the Main Union Organization of the Directorate Sarajevo “JOB” BH Telecom of the Directorate Sarajevo and the Civil Association “Witnesses of their time” are organizing the Peace March Sarajevo-Nezuk-Potočari 2016.

As in previous years, the Peace March starts on July 7 at 8 a.m. in front of the Memorial to the martyrs and killed fighters of the 101st and 102nd motorized brigade on Dolac Malta, and ends on July 11 in Potočari.

Organized group of people from Sarajevo will join the participants in the Peace March in Nezuk, from where they will continue towards Potočari. Arrival in Potočari is planned on July 11, on the day of collective burial and funeral for the genocide victims.

“Our duty is to forgive, but it is a sin to forget. That is why we invite all those who feel physically capable to participate in this year’s Peace March and thus preserve the memory of the innocently killed Bosniaks of Srebrenica and Podrinje,” the invitation states.

All interested should register until June 11 at www.svjedocisvogvremena.ba; via email to svjedocisvogvremena@gmail.com, or via phone number 061/753-907.

The route includes rugged mountainous and densely wooded areas with streams, and also goes through woods with mined area of the terrain. In this regard, all interested are urged to inform themselves about the route and the code of conduct.
