The Peace Support Operations Training Center (PSOTC) in cooperation with the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Sarajevo will hold a five-day course on the subject of media management in peace support operations.

As Colonel Amer Riković told FENA, it is a training that PSOTC traditionally organizes in cooperation with the Faculty of Political Sciences and the Defense Cooperation Office of the Embassy of the United States of America.

“This course is certified by the NATO alliance and the University of Sarajevo (UNSA) and it aims to provide participants with the basic knowledge necessary to understand both the opportunities and challenges of the media presence in peace support operations,” he added.

In addition, experts in the field of public relations during this course, through numerous and different exercises, will emphasize the development of the necessary skills required to best utilize Public Affairs within an operational process, ensuring unity of effort in the accomplishment of mission objectives.

The course will be attended by a total of 37 participants from 15 different countries around the world, of which 12 are students from the Faculty of Political Sciences of the UNSA. This curse is one of seven NATO-certified and four UN-certified courses held at the Peace Support Operations Training Center.

In addition to lecturers from the Faculty of Political Sciences of UNSA as co-organizers, the course will also involve lecturers from other institutions and organizations within the framework of various cooperation programs that PSOTC has with them.

The lecturers will be from the Multinational Peace Support Operations Training Center in Greece, NATO Headquarters Sarajevo, EUFOR Command, Office for Defense Cooperation of the US Embassy, Faculty of Political Sciences of the UNSA, Federal News Agency (FENA), Media Information Center of the Armed Forces BiH and PSOTC members.
