The Association for Social Research and Communication (UDIK) will organize in Sarajevo tomorrow a peace action and performance on occasion of the Day of Nonviolence.
They said that their goal is to remind that citizens of B&H are victims of a culture of violence and are under the pressure of nationalist politics to neglect building civic, multicultural and tolerant communities.
They find it wrong that the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs and municipality Višegrad to remove the word genocide from the monument in the memorial cemetery Stražište, which was erected on the occasion of the burial for 66 exhumed bodies from the artificial lake Perućac.
They recall that Milan Lukić’s verdict to life imprisonment and 27 years for Sredoje Lukić is sufficient evidence that the city of Višegrad, with 3.000 missing people, is the city in which genocide began.
They said that genocide does not have to be proven to the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, but that it has all the elements of this crime.
The performance will take place on the square fra Grge Martića in front of the Sarajevo Cathedral at 12:00.
