Performance ‘Memory of a Stone’ in Sarajevo War Theatre

sjećanjeOn Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, citizens of Sarajevo will have the opportunity to see a dance performance called ‘Memory of a Stone’ which will be shown in Sarajevo War Theatre as a part of the program ‘Memory Module’ and in the production of MESS Dance Company International Theatre Festival MESS.

The contemporary dance performance is motivated by epitaphs, and motifs of medieval BiH tombstones, and the choreography was done by Mark Boldin.

Manager of Sarajevo War Theatre (SARTR) Nihad Kreševljaković said that SARTR wants to be a part of the project that promotes both dance and stećci, as an important part of BiH identity.

Manager of the Institute for Music, Theatre and Multimedia Alma Ferović said that the institution joined the project in order to promote new forms of artistic expression.

Boldin noted that the dance performance is a blend of dance, physical theatre and acting.

Cast of the performance: Emir Fejzić, Sanela Krsmanović, Amila Terzimehić, Ena Kurtalić, Elma Selman, Edin Avdagić, Lea Jerlagić, Victoria Bartz.

Premiere will be held on 16 April at 8 p.m. in SARTR, and reruns on 17 and 18 April.
