Stray_dogsThe B&H Parliament adopted last week an amendment to the Law on Protection and Welfare of Animals that would euthanize stray dogs after 15 days of being in a shelter, which compelled activists of various organizations for the rights of animals and citizens.

A petition against this sort of solution for a large number of stray dogs was started on the streets of B&H cities, which primarily blame local authorities that did not implement the existing Law on Protection and Welfare of Animals that has been in force since 2009.

In a few days, more than 23.000 people signed the petition.

However, the House of Peoples of B&H will make the final decision on the proposed amendments to the Law at a session that is expected to be held next week.
