farmacijaOrganized by the Chamber of Pharmacists of the FBiH, in Sarajevo yesterday there was a two-day symposium on the topic of pharmacists on the topic “New Roles of Pharmacists in the Health Care System”, in which experts from the FBiH attended. In addition to locals, there were lecturers from foreign experts.

There were around 500 participants and they obtained certificates on participation on the basis of which they get the points required for a license that is renewed every five years.

During the symposium, they spoke about the Agency for Quality and Accreditation in Health Care (AKAZ) FBiH-the legal framework, function and standards, psychological aspects of communication, communication competence in lending pharmaceutical and health support, and the establishment of quality systems and security in pharmacies.

The Agency was founded in 2005 and its task was to establish a system of safe services for patients in all health institutions in the FBiH.

“The way to improve quality and security develops in stages, step by step and requires adjustment, which is not easy’’, said the Director of AKAZ Ahmed Novo.

He said that the intention of this body to work in partnership with inspections to pharmacists and health professionals to assist in providing quality services for the benefit of patients and health care professionals.

The conference devoted attention to professionalism, ethics, models of paying for pharmaceutical services in Europe and BIH, and a new role of pharmacists in the hospital industry.

The Chamber said that many local pharmacists are paying attention to the continuation of education, and that the level of the development of the field follows the region.
