Thermal Power Plant (TPP) in Tuzla represents the most important backbone of Elektroprivreda BiH, and that was proved in the past year in which, due to reduced work of hydroelectric power plants, the focus of the production was replaced to the Thermal Power Plant,” as announced by the Thermal Power Plant Tuzla.

As they noted, a total of 3,500 MWh of electricity was produced, as well as large quantities of technological steam and heat energy.

There were no interruptions in the delivery of heat energy, except in one case, and all agreements and obligations were fulfilled. A total of 3 million and 800 000 tons of coal were taken from the mine from this territory. The total of 8 million BAM was invested, of which 25 % in environmental protection projects.

The main project in this and the following year, as noted, will be the construction of Block 7. They will soon start with preparatory works that should be completed in the middle of the year.

“In this phase, preparatory works mostly include preparation of the terrain and construction sites. Our assessment is that all of this will cost about 18 million BAM. This is a certain start of construction works on Block 7. The second phase will be the infrastructure equipment of the location and then we will precede with geological research. Block 7 is right before the beginning of physical realisation,” as confirmed by Izet Dzananovic, the director of TPP.

Moreover, the total investment in Block 7 amounts to around 700 million EUR, and 85 % of funds was secured by the Chinese Development Bank, while the rest of the money will be provided by Elektroprivreda BiH.
