The football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina is playing a second round match of Group B at the World Cup against Switzerland tonight. The match at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles starts at 21:00 CET. After the first round, both selections have one point and a goal difference of 1:1.

FLOW OF THE MATCH:

The coach of the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sergej Barbarez, has chosen the starting line-up for the match against Switzerland.

Playing for Bosnia and Herzegovina from the first minute:

Vasilj, Dedić, Muharemović, Katić, Kolašinac, Šunjić, Tahirović, Memić, Demirović, Alajbegović and Džeko.

After winning a point at the opening of the World Cup against Canada, our footballers are expecting perhaps the most important match of the group stage tonight.

The rival is the Swiss national team, a selection that has been among the European and world leaders for years, but the Dragons’ camp believes that they can continue their positive streak and take a new step towards qualifying for the knockout phase of the World Cup.

The selected players of coach Sergej Barbarez enter the duel with an additional dose of self-confidence. The national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina scored a goal in the last 12 competitive matches, which speaks volumes about the continuity and character of this generation. From the draw against the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League, through the qualifiers and the dramatic barrage for the World Cup, all the way to the duel with Canada, the Dragons have shown that they always find a way to the opponent’s net. However, everyone in the national team is aware that a much more difficult task awaits them now.

“There is always pressure in this business, and Switzerland is too experienced a team for it to have an impact on them. They have a motive to correct the draw from the first round, which is considered a negative result. We have to be better or at least luckier than the Swiss if we want to win. If we give 100 percent of ourselves, it will be a good game and I am confident that we will have a good result. A lot depends on the opponent, but I hope that we will be the ones to celebrate in the end,” Barbarez said at a press conference.

“Preparations are going very well. The players who played against Canada have successfully recovered and we are ready to welcome the next match. The point against Canada is valuable, but now we face a much more demanding opponent. Switzerland is a national team that has been among the best in the world for years and we have to play at the highest level,” said Bosnia and Herzegovina representative Stjepan Radeljić.

The Zmajeva defender is particularly warning about the quality of the next opponent.

“They have top individuals, a lot of experience and are used to playing big matches. We have to be disciplined, analyze their virtues well and make the most of the opportunities that come our way. At this level of competition, the details decide the winner,” emphasized Radeljić.

The main referee of the match is Joao Pinjeiro from Portugal, while his compatriots Bruno Žezus and Luciano Maja will assist him. The fourth referee will be the Japanese Jusuke Araki.

After the first round, all national teams in group B have one point each and an identical goal difference of 1:1. In the first round of Group B, BiH drew 1:1 against hosts Canada, while Switzerland achieved the same result against Qatar.

After the duel with Switzerland, the Dragons will play the last match of the group stage against Qatar on June 24 in Seattle.
