Croatian PM: It is a Matter of Principle and Croatian Experience to be against the Resolution on Gaza

Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković once again referred to Croatia’s “no” regarding the resolution on Gaza, which calls for an immediate, permanent and sustainable humanitarian truce leading to a cessation of hostilities.

Namely, yesterday, during the presentation of the report on the meetings of the European Council held from April to November, Plenković said that he is one of the most experienced and influential members of the European Council.

“You have a prime minister who is one of the more experienced, and I won’t say too much, one of the more influential members of the European Council,” Plenković pointed out, arguing with Dalija Orešković.

He said that Russian aggression against Ukraine, illegal migration, the prospect of European Union expansion and the war between Israel and Hamas were discussed at the European Council meetings, which is why he again commented on Croatia’s “no” regarding the resolution in Gaza.

He said that there was no mention of the terrorist attack by Hamas, even though it was a “fundamental event” that started the current war. He believes that this is reminiscent of the resolutions during the Homeland War when, as he says, Croatia “experienced resolutions in which they did not want to recognize who was who”.

“Therefore, it is a matter of principle and Croatian experience to be against such a resolution. The worst thing is to be restrained. We had a dilemma to either be for or to be against. To be restrained on something like this is the worst,” claims Plenković.

We remind you that Croatian President Zoran Milanović pointed out that Croatia should have remained restrained, and that the decision was made without consulting him, Klix.ba reports.
