PM of Republika Srpska: We will not give up even if some Processes are conducted for 100 Years

The Prime Minister of Republika Srpska (RS), Radovan Viskovic, commented on the issue of property in the context of the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), after that BiH entity passed a law that seeks to appropriate state property.

Viskovic said that the politicians from the RS have nothing against the competencies of BiH as prescribed by the Constitution, but that other pressures and impositions will not be allowed by the current government, that is, the chairman of the BiH Presidency Zeljka Cvijanovic and he as the prime minister of the RS.

“We did not accidentally find ourselves in the Dayton Agreement and Annex Four, i.e. the Constitution, which clearly states the RS as an unavoidable factor. The letter is what is recognized, and we demand respect for the original Dayton Agreement. If something is outdated and should be changed, there is a prescribed procedure. Nothing can be changed by force and unilaterally,” Viskovic pointed out.

He believes that the “struggle for the position of the RS” is not something that can be finished quickly, especially not in complex geopolitical circumstances.

“Some processes have been going on for 100 years. We must learn to persevere on our path and fight for our rights. The fight will sometimes last for decades, but we need to be aware of that and we must never give up on our intention,” he added.

The Prime Minister of the RS is of the opinion that the issue of state property is regulated by the Constitution of BiH and the constitution of that entity.

“For us, it is sacred, we stick to it. There is no one in RS who represents any institution at any level, who can give up on it or agree to something that is not written in the Constitution of BiH,” said Viskovic.

Moreover, he is also of the opinion that the state Constitutional Court would only have to look at “the first page of the BiH Constitution to see to whom the property belongs”, Klix.ba reports.
