Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sifet Podžić and Military Attaché of the Federal Republic of Germany to BiH, Colonel Franz-Josef Nolte signed today a Technical Agreement on granting financial support from the Federal Republic of Germany for infrastructure measures, procurement of equipment for classrooms, IT equipment as well as teaching materials and training materials at AF BiH locations.

After reviewing the situation at the locations and drafting project tasks for the needs of members at the locations of the AF BiH, the signing of the Technical Agreement is the first step that will be realized within the project of donation of FR Germany of 1.1 million euros.

The technical agreement defines the realization of equipping the German language school at the location of the Rajlovac barracks in the amount of 80 thousand euros.

Minister Podžić expressed his satisfaction with the initiative of the Federal Republic of Germany to start arranging the infrastructure and facilities where members of the AF BiH live through the realization of this donation.

“This donation will contribute to raising interoperability to a higher level, improve living and working conditions, and through increasing energy efficiency significantly improve the environmental standards of AFBiH facilities,” Podžić added.

The military attaché of the Federal Republic of Germany in BiH, Colonel Nolte, emphasized that this is the first Technical Agreement out of a total of four that are planned to be realized.

“We hope that by investing in equipping and modernizing the German language school in Rajlovac, we will increase the number of members of the AF BiH who want to learn German, and thus improve their military skills in FR Germany,” concluded Nolte.
