The Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sifet Podzic, and the Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, Kajse Ollongren, discussed bilateral relations between BiH and the Netherlands, as well as European integration of BiH and cooperation with NATO.
Podzic points out that today’s meeting was used to discuss with Minister Ollongren in more detail the conclusions of the NATO summit in Madrid, which are related to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Our talks will certainly continue, because the Netherlands is one of the countries that gives BiH clear and unequivocal support on its European and NATO path,” said Podzic after the meeting.
Minister Ollongren points out that bilateral cooperation between BiH and the Netherlands was discussed, as well as BiH’s cooperation with the European Union and NATO.
“BiH is our partner country and it is important that, bearing in mind the war in Ukraine, we remain in close contact in order to maintain stability in the region,” she said.
She added that the Netherlands is considering how it can contribute to the EUFOR mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The delegation of the Netherlands, led by the Minister of Defense of that country, after the meeting in Sarajevo, will head to Srebrenica, where they will pay tribute to the victims of the genocide.
