Police officers of the Police Department of the MUP of the Sarajevo Canton, under the supervision of the acting prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of the Sarajevo Canton, and in cooperation with the Intelligence and Security Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, identified and detained two people on suspicion of committing a criminal offense – the activation of an explosive device in the immediate vicinity of a family home of the Mayor of Stari Grad Municipality Irfan Čengić, executed on April 1, 2024.

Two men were deprived of their freedom, M.H. (1995) and B.A. (1992), both from Sarajevo, due to the suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of Causing General Danger (Article 323 of the FBiH CC). Both are in the official premises of the Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton for criminal processing.

The men deprived of their liberty are also connected with the commission of the criminal act of activating an explosive device in Kreštalica Street, committed on March 26, 2024.

Police officers of the Sarajevo Canton MUP Police Administration continue their work on documenting these crimes and elucidating all the circumstances of their commission, announced the Sarajevo Canton MUP Police Administration.
