The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj canton today published a photo of Luka Čokar, suspected of the robbery of the pastor of the church “Svetog Peter i Pavla” in Mehmeda Skopljaka street, Kakanj municipality. Since the suspect is still on the run, the Police Directorate of the MUP ZDK called on citizens who have information about the person’s movements to contact the police officers by calling the number 122 or directly addressing the police officers in the field.

They remind that on September 2, 2023, at 9:05 p.m., a robbery against the pastor was reported to the Kakanj Police Station, in which the perpetrator stole a certain amount of money and ducats from him, threatening him with a knife. The Ministry of Internal Affairs states that immediately after the investigation, extensive activities were launched to shed light on that criminal act, and members of the Criminal Police Sector of the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, ZDK, in cooperation with the officers of the Kakanj Police Station, undertook a series of operational measures and actions with the aim of identifying the perpetrator and his deprivation of liberty.

They add that on September 28, 2023, in cooperation with the officers of the Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, officers of the Criminal Police Department of the Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs ZDK, acting according to the Order of the Cantonal Court in Zenica, during the search of residential buildings and vehicles used by Luka Čokara, born in 2001, from Kakanj, in the area of the city of Sarajevo, found part of the objects that most likely originate from the robbery of the priest.

During the search, a certain amount of money was found, as well as jewelry and ducats, as well as a box with the inscription “Property of Kakanj County”.

Given that the suspect Čokara was not found during the search of the residential building, an operational search was launched for him in order to locate and deprive him of liberty, the ZDK MUP announced.
