Police officers of the East Sarajevo Police Department, together with the Directorate for Organized and Serious Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska, and in cooperation with Europol, are implementing a multi-month operation codenamed “Code”. According to the orders of the East Sarajevo District Court and the supervision of the East Sarajevo District Public Prosecutor’s Office, searches are underway at 27 locations, in the area of East Novi Sarajevo, East Ilidža, Pale, East Stari Grad, Banja Luka and Sarajevo Canton.

Fifteen persons are currently deprived of their freedom. The action is directed against a group of persons who are suspected of having arranged the purchase, distribution and payment of various types of drugs (cocaine, heroin, marijuana, amphetamine, ecstasy and other substances for the production of narcotic drugs) for a long period of time in the area of East Sarajevo, and thereby committing the criminal offense of “Unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs”.

The illegal property benefit obtained by the execution of this criminal offense amounts to 2,750,000.00 BAM, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RS announced.
