On 18 May 2020, the Polish Military Contingent of EUFOR took delivery of medical resources to support the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina against the COVID-19 pandemic at Sarajevo International Airport.

The Polish Contingent Commander of the EUFOR mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lieutenant Colonel Arkadiusz Rożnowski, handed over 50,000 protective masks and 1000 litres of disinfectant fluid to representatives of the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The event was attended by the BiH Minister of Security, Fahrudin Radončić, BiH Assistant Minister for International Cooperation, Samir Rizvo, the Polish Ambassador in Bosnia and Herzegovina, His Excellency Jarosław Lindenberg, and the Polish Defense Attaché in the Republic of Croatia, Colonel Zbigniew Tomalak.

The medical equipment was donated at the initiative of the Polish President, Andrzej Duda. Collaboration and assistance is of great importance for supporting bilateral relations between Poland and Bosnia and Herzegovina on the grounds of security and international cooperation, preventing the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Poland is one of 20 troop contributing countries that form the Operation EUFOR Althea military mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, working in support of the BiH authorities to maintain a safe and secure environment for all citizens of BiH.
