electionsIn the Embassy of Serbia in Sarajevo and the Consulate General in Banja Luka will be opened polling stations for today’s elections for the president of Serbia.

Polling stations will be opened from 7 a.m to 8 p.m.

From the Embassy of Serbia announced that about 1,000 voters in BiH have the right to vote in presidential elections: 154 of them are registered in Sarajevo, and in Banja Luka between 700 and 800 voters.

Ambassador of Serbia to BiH Stanimir Vukicevic will vote at 11 a.m in the Embassy of Serbia in Sarajevo.

Chairman of the election committee in Banja Luka will address the media regarding the voting today at 10 a.m in the Consulate General of Serbia.

Vukicevic earlier said that there will not be any voting in the Consulate of Serbia in Mostar because there is no sufficient number of voters registered there.

He added that during the voting, in order to determine identity at the polling station, it is crucial for citizens to bring a valid passport of Serbia or valid ID card of Serbia, the old Serbian identity card on the old form, with a confirmation of the Serbian MIA on the submitted application for issuance of a new ID card or a valid driver’s license of Serbia on the old form with ID number.

The pre-election silence in Serbia started from midnight on the 31st of March.

President of the National Assembly of Serbia Maja Gojkovic announced on the 2nd of March that presidential elections will be held on the 2nd of April.

Candidates for the president of Serbia are Sasa Jankovic, Vuk Jeremic, Miroslav Parovic, Sasa Radulovic, Luka Maksimovic (Ljubisa Preletacevic Beli), Aleksandar Vucic, Bosko Obradovic, Vojislav Seselj, Aleksandar Popovic, Milan Stamatovic and Nenad Canak.

If none of the candidates receive more than half of the votes in the first round, they will pass in the second round. In the second round of elections participate two candidates with the biggest number of votes.
