Sarajevo Zagađenje zrakaDuring the past few days in Sarajevo, Zenica and Tuzla there has been an increase again in the concentration of pollutants in the air, especially the concentration of sulfur dioxide and dust. Today at 8:00, the air quality index in Sarajevo was 160, marked ‘unhealthy’.

‘’There are chances for an increase in symptoms in patients with lung diseases, such as asthma and consequences in respiratory healthy. The following groups should reduce physical activities outside: people with lung or heart disease, pregnant women, children and the elderly. Everyone else should avoid prolonged periods of time outside or increased stress’’, said Eko-Action.

Enis Omerčić from the Department for Air at the FB&H Hydrometeorological Institute told Fena: ‘’The current situation is not satisfactory, but the pollution is still at a lower level than in comparison to the situation seven days ago. In the next few days we expect a mild destabilization of the atmosphere, with mild rain and low wind, and thus the level of air pollution is expected to remain as it is now’’.

He predicted that in the coming days they do not expect the level of air pollution as last week or two, but the quality of air would not be satisfactory.
