The Palestinian Red Crescent announced that 28 of the 31 premature babies transferred from the Al-Shifa hospital in southern Gaza due to Israeli attacks were transported by ambulance to the Rafah border crossing, reports Anadolu.

The statement of the Red Crescent states that 28 premature babies from the hospital in Rafah, where they were transferred yesterday, were transferred to the border crossing to be hospitalized in Egypt.

The evacuation is carried out in cooperation with the World Health Organization and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

The Palestinian Red Crescent told Anadolu that the remaining three of the 31 premature babies are in good condition and will be kept for observation at a hospital in southern Gaza.

The Red Crescent said yesterday that 31 premature babies were transferred to the Emirates Hospital in southern Gaza from the Al-Shifa Hospital in northern Gaza, which was closed due to Israeli military attacks.

According to the Gaza government, at least 5,500 children have been killed in Israeli attacks since October 7.

At least 13,000 Palestinians have been killed, including 9,000 women and children, and more than 30,000 people have been injured since Israel began bombing the Gaza Strip following the October 7 attack by Hamas.

Thousands of buildings, including hospitals, mosques and churches, have also been damaged or destroyed in relentless Israeli air and ground attacks on the besieged enclave.

According to official data, the number of dead in Israel is around 1,200.
