Bosnians mourn over coffins of newly ideThe Organizing Committee to mark 11 July 1995, the 19th anniversary of the genocide over Bosniaks “UN Safe Zone” Srebrenica held today the first meeting related to preparations for the funeral. The burial of more than 100 victims of genocide will be done this year in Potočari.

The President of Organizing Committee and the Mayor of Srebrenica Municipality Ćamil Duraković said that until today the burial of 103 victims of genocide has been confirmed. According to him, it is possible that there would be more because of the identification process.

“Today at the meeting the President and two Vice Presidents of the Organizing Committee have been appointed. Except for me as the President of the Committee, the Vice Presidents Mufti Vahid ef. Fazlović and Sadik Ahmetović, the chairman of the Directors Board of Memorial Center in Potočari were also appointed. We have formed 13 subcommittees that will address certain activities, and for the next session every subcommittee President will delegate people who will be part of these bodies”, clarified Duraković.

The Organizing Committee states that there is not yet information about the officials, nor the number of people that will attend this year’s funeral since the confirmation on attendance usually arrives a few days before the funeral.
